Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder
For BPD: I smoke small amounts of an Indica strain out of a bowl to treat anxiety or to help me perceive situations more clearly when I am having symptoms of BPD that cloud my mind or prevent me from regulating my emotions. For PMDD I use strong edibles made with an Indica strain to keep my cramps and mood swings under control. If I am not able to eat an edible that day, I have to use pain medication, so it would be great to learn of a topical that could help with cramps and headaches. So far I have not been able to find a very effective topical
If I smoke out of a bowl for my symptoms I find it more helpful than using a bong. That can get me too high and actually worsen my anxiety or mood swings, so I find that with emotional issues taking dosage slowly out of a bowl is best.
I do use SSRI's to help stabilize my overall mood. I have found that cannabis is a better treatment as needed for me, alongside my pharmaceuticals rather than without. However, cannabis is what I try before taking a benzo- I'd rather use that for my anxiety when cannabis is not helpful first, or for cramps before I resort to a painkiller (but at this time I am still searching for the best topical for cramps and migraines). Cannabis also relieves side effects of my SSRI such as low sex drive.
I would say for Borderline and PMDD, to try cannabis along with psychotropics such as an SSRI and not depend on cannabis alone to regulate PMDD and BPD unless you have no other choice. Cannabis, for me, is better used as needed instead of used as a daily medication to keep me stable. Some people who are less ill might not need SSRI but I do. Also, for BPD I would suggest medicating slowly with and indica strain rather than a sativa strain out of a bowl rather than a bong to prevent heightened anxiety.
